2023 will mark the 20th edition of the Cyclotour du Léman, the biggest cyclosportive tour around Lake Geneva! But did you know that the Tour du Lac goes back much further than that?
The 20th edition of the Cyclotour du Léman will take place on 4 June 2023, a historic race not to be missed.
Indeed, the Tour du Lac Léman is a race that dates back to 1879 and is therefore one of the oldest races in cycling - the first organised cycling race took place in Paris in 1868 (cycliste.ch). The Swiss Henri Suter even holds the record for victories with four between 1924 and 1930!
Taking part in the Cyclotour du Léman therefore means taking part in the oldest cycling race in Switzerland! What a great challenge.
To celebrate the event, here is a word from the founder of the "modern" Tour du Lac, Christian Jean: "The Swiss and French organising committees are proud to have been the sporting link between Switzerland and France for the past 19 years. I would also like to thank all the participants who have shown their confidence in us throughout these years. After 19 years the passion that drives us is still intact."
And you, will you be part of history?
